- Letsema La Bana
Letsema La Bana is a support day that Johannesburg Expo Centre has hosted since 2009 in conjunction with the Rand Show. It was, however only in 2010 that the event name – Letsema La Bana – was conceived. Loosely translated Letsema La Bana means "joining hands for the children" and depicts the poignant purpose and collaborative effort that is characteristic of the day.
The beneficiaries of the event are the South African Police Services (SAPS) widows and orphans – those families that have lost a parent or partner, who, in their heroic efforts to fight crime in our country, lost their lives. The event is therefore a celebration of the lives of these heros and heroins; and a means of showing our support for the families that have been left behind.
JEC acknowledges that such a day requires the assistance of other humble organisations - organisations that willingly join hands with us to ensure that the day is a success. The event has grown from strength to strength each year, and we hope that it continues to do so in the future.
- Inkwenkwezi Primary School
Inkwenkwezi Primary School is based in Soweto and has been part of our corporate social initiative profile for many years. JEC makes donations in the form of stationary, backpacks and blankets, to name a few, throughout the year and is always willing to help where we can.
